Time to break the silence on evidence-based sex work policy in Canada

Under the current criminal legislation in Canada, none of these safer sex work policies can even be piloted, and sex workers are left with few options to protect themselves from violent perpetrators such as Robert Pickton.

VANCOUVER, B.C. - The landmark decision by the Ontario Superior Court striking down Canada's prostitution laws has finally swung the doors wide-open on one of the country's worst-kept secrets: a failure of government to address the massive policy gaps that expose sex workers to violence and murder.
