Dr. Shannon speaks to evidence at SWUAV-Pivot Press Conference Panel launching new 'Rights Cards'

On February 27th, 2013, Dr. Kate Shannon, Director of the Gender & Sexual Health Initiative, joined Pivot Legal Society's Katrina Pacey, and DJ Joe, a support worker and member of Sex Worker's United Against Violence (SWUAV) on a press conference panel announcing the launch of a new 'Rights Card' for sex workers.The cards explain the Vancouver Police Department's new policy, which emphasizes the safety and security of sex workers when police are dealing with sex-work related calls or situations. Pacey encouraged the VPD to encourage police departments across Canada to institute similar policies.
